The Cornish Family
Vicki and Matt married in 2010. Nothing could be more wonderful! Matt brought three great children with him and together the adventure began. We quickly added three more. With our oldest married, we now claim a seventh! In our case, combining our passions and interests has led us to love others around the world and yearn to serve.
Getting to Know Us

A Bit More
So, wait. How did this happen?
Vicki was a missionary for 18 months in Vanuatu. She has worked as a volunteer in five countries, but has a passion and love for Vanuatu. Matt was a missionary in Argentina for 24 months. He has worked as a volunteer in four countries. He too has a deep connection with Vanuatu and it's people. Though we had been to Vanuatu together, after Cyclone Pam hit, we felt compelled to send Matt and two of his nurses to provide relief. |
After further discussions and much prayer, we started to plan a move to Vanuatu. In mid 2017, the Cornish family spent a month in Vanuatu. Matt worked at Vila Central Hospital while Vicki researched the educational resources. This month helped us feel settled on what we needed to do - relocate to Vanuatu permanently.
We are drawn by the goodness of the people as well as the desire to match our strengths with the needs in a country that is developing so quickly. We believe that all children should have safe access to healthcare and education. Because we both speak Bislama and love the people of Vanuatu, how and where better could we teach our children than with the good people there? We hope that by humbly offering what we have that both the Ni-Vanuatu children and our own might be better for it.

...and thus we find ourselves headed to the other side of the globe, thrilled to be back with our loved ones in Port Vila and knowing we'll dearly miss our loved ones in the USA.
Thank you, Kyrstin, for making such kind videos for us. See her inspirational and professional work.
